Mid Norfolk Family History Society

Founded in September 1994, the association aims to assist people who are researching their ancestors by recording and collecting genealogical information from within a 10 mile radius of Dereham.

Local group members are welcome to borrow from the association’s vast library of reference books and other publications.

Society Projects

The Society is in the process of creating a burial index covering the parishes surrounding Dereham for the period 1813-1837, and currently has approximately 146000 entries.  For payment of a fee, the Society can search this index on your behalf.

Norfolk Family History Society

The Society was established in 1968 as Norfolk and Norwich Genealogical Society.  They aim to encourage transcription and indexing projects to give wider access to genealogical resources. The group currently has approximately 4000 members, which include people from Papua New Guinea, Australia, USA and Canada.
